LOCAL AUTHOR UNVEILS SECOND SONG FROM ‘MIND THE TRAMS’
‘One A Penny’ celebrates the warmth, humour and heart of Lockwood’s Bakery
The smell of freshly baked bread may soon become the sound of Lancashire’s newest musical, as Accrington author and songwriter Gabriel Undici releases the second song from his growing Mind The Trams Songbook.
Titled One A Penny, the song transports listeners inside Lockwood’s Bakery, where flour hangs in the morning air, customers gather at the counter and friendship is measured as much by conversation as by the loaves carried home.
Inspired by the opening chapters of Mind The Trams, the song captures a Lancashire community before the Second World War changed everything. It celebrates the ordinary routines, laughter and quiet kindness that made small mill towns feel like home.
