Description
Mind The Trams Song Book
Inspired by the historical novel Mind The Trams, this collection takes listeners into Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, in 1939.
Through twenty songs, the lives of mill workers, bakers, families, friends and lovers unfold against the approaching shadow of the Second World War.
From the warmth of Lockwood’s Bakery to the excitement of St George’s Ballroom, the songs explore friendship, romance, humour, heartbreak and the extraordinary changes experienced by ordinary people.
The collection forms a musical companion to the novel, giving its characters another opportunity to tell their stories.
